In a former quarry in front of the sea of the gulf of Trieste a city was born. It took five years and an investment of 245 million Euros. Its name is Portopiccolo Sistiana, a residential complex of 460 houses overlooking the sea, with shops of excellence and 124 berths.
The complex was built by the Friulian colossus Rizzani de Eccher, and designed by the architect Francesco Luparelli, who made extensive use of renewable energies with great consideration for the environment, in order to create a complex as green and eco-friendly as possible.
Lighting
The lighting and the street furniture of the new city were set up by Neri, with street lamps of the Heka system, wall brackets of the Kuma system, and ‘Light 21’ luminaires. The posts light up the main entrance, the squares, the port and the main streets.
On the walls of the houses and on the retaining walls, made of stone, hang the wall brackets of the Kuma system.
Street furniture
In a city without cars, where pedestrians are the protagonists, street furniture is vital for the urban quality. In Portopiccolo you can sit on Nyssa benches and recycle with Layia bins. Streets are indicated with custom signposts from the Melia series.
