City of art of southern Italy, Lecce is known as the ‘Florence of the South’ or the ‘Florence of the Baroque’. The architectural development and the decorative enrichment of the façades was particularly fertile during the Fifteenth Century and it has characterised the city in such an original way that it has given way to the definition of Leccese Baroque.

The lantern

The lantern traditionally installed along the city’s streets is hexagonally shaped, surmounted by a crown. Neri designed and built a hexagonal lantern with the same crown, but with different internal parts, in order to retain the original design, while boosting lighting performance.

Castore System

The Castore system lampposts and ‘Light 801’ units were used to light the central Piazza Sant’Oronzo, with its important archaeological site at the Roman amphitheatre.
