Walking through any city, you will notice how street lighting is often used as a support for a series of different devices and never properly integrate with them because they weren’t designed to be together in the first place. All those little boxes that end up populating our cities street furniture just generate what can be called ‘visual pollution’ of the urban centres.
The Neri laboratories are working really hard in the attempt to reverse this trend by finding better ways of integrating lighting with other devices. We place cameras connected to the LAN network right inside the lighting fixtures. Each camera has its own IP number and doesn’t need a dedicated ECU. Those type of cameras allow a series of additional detections such as people or car counting and the infrared night vision.
Our lighting fixtures can be also equipped with Wi-Fi hotspots by placing a very short, almost invisible, antenna on top of them.
