This is the Olympus of Italian design, one step before the coveted “Compasso D’Oro”.
And this year, for the first time, the ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (industrial design association) selection will not just express the narrow circle of products that form the oldest and most authoritative global award for industrial design: in addition to the publication of a volume, a special web section was created and an exhibition will host the products at the Triennale di Milano design museum.
At the design museum, NERI numbers two of its gems – Alya and Hydra – among the 139 products selected for the ADI Index and showcased in the exhibition which is open until 3 November in a specially set up space.
This result is the just reward for NERI’s attention to details, establishing it as one of the leaders in terms of product style and quality, where the new lighting systems designed by Makio Hasuike really stand out.
NERI had already received positive assessment by the ADI design committee 10 years ago and has now come back as a leading light in the best design under production in Italy.
The selection was made by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory: over one hundred experts from every production sector, active all over Italy throughout the year. The products will participate in the selection for the upcoming edition of the famous Compasso d’Oro award.
The exhibition is a preview of visibility that will become permanent for the historical collection of the Compasso d'Oro in 2015, when it will have its own headquarters, open to the general public.
