Neri gets UL mark, the most important standard for products certification accredited by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
This was an important step for NERI in order to build a stronger presence in the US market, as announced by the CEO at the presentation of the new business plan.
To establish certification, samples of a product submitted by manufacturers are tested and evaluated. If UL decides the product fulfills all applicable requirements it authorizes the manufacturer to apply a certification mark to production of the samples submitted.
Investigations of products by UL typically involve testing of product samples. While UL maintains extensive test facilities, customers can also utilize their own or third-party test facilities. Through UL’s Witness Test Data Program (WTDP) tests may be conducted at customer or third-party test facilities under the supervision of UL personnel, just like Neri has recently been through.
Participating test facilities are required to have the appropriate physical resources and equipment and qualified personnel needed to conduct testing. The laboratory, physical resources, equipment, personnel and procedures must be equivalent to what would be used in UL’s own laboratories for the same testing in order to get the best quality standard.
