Light Nova

Light Nova is a new luminaire designed and produced by Neri characterised by sober and minimalist design. Conceived to be at ease in different environments and to ensure flexibility of use, Light Nova combines high performance with maximum heat dissipation.

Made of die-cast aluminum (UNI EN 1706), the screen is flat tempered glass with a high mechanical impact resistance (IK08). Light Nova is equipped with highly efficient LED Cree XP-G2 positioned on a ceramic base to provide high thermal conductivity and electrical insulation for a longer service life. The optical system is composed of overlapping PMMA lenses with high performance and constant light transmission; the multilayer technology optimises the quality of light even when the performance of the system changes.

Light Nova is also available in the Fortimo version, which – thanks to its uniform large source – minimises unpleasant glare. Fortimo is characterised by high and consistent colour rendering in addition to a very low decay of the light emission during the product lifetime. The lumens are constant and future-proof while the light distribution excellent. The LED module system and driver are designed to last and provide 100% of the initial flow even after 50,000 hours of use.

These technological features determine high performance in terms of energy saving – favoured by the presence of electronic ballasts controlling the light flow – as well as glare reduction, without any effect the quality of light and thermal dissipation. Light Nova has a heat dissipation system that maintains lower the junction temperature, extending in this way the life of the light source.

Light Nova is designed to adapt to the different scenarios typical of cities and to guarantee consistency throughout thank to the different versions and related accessories available: suspended (with clevis or with male G3/4), catenary, side-entry (column or wall).

Recommended for streets with mixed traffic because of its high efficiency and reduced glare as well as squares and parks where it is necessary to have a very uniform light, other possible applications are walking and cycling paths because they need light exclusively on the path as well as residential areas and even shops and offices. For all contexts another big advantage of this product is represented by the simplicity of installation and maintenance; the components replacement requires only a few and very quick steps.

More than 8000 Light Nova luminaires are already illuminating the city of Milan, getting ready for the big event of EXPO 2015, chosen by A2A - an Italian utility company - to replace the old lights in the most prestigious locations.
